# Pro-tip: Renumber Elements based on Your Use Case

## Users can continue Element numbers across multiple floor plans for accurate Bill of Materials

When adding an Element to a Survey, by default the element ID for elements will start at '001'. Users can change the start point of the numbering by changing the element ID manually.

For instance, changing the first Fixed Camera element placed to FCAM-011 will cause the next Fixed Camera placed to be FCAM-012 and so on.

**Element re-numbering is especially helpful if you have a multi-floor project and want to continue the numbering sequence for your Element IDs across multiple surveys. **
